#BeautyUnfiltered Makeup Lesson Series {Part 6}: “Working Overtime”
In this makeup lesson, I will show you how to apply makeup step-by-step with makeup tips to help you look more professional.
Timestamps for #BeautyUnfiltered: Working Overtime
- 3:29— Apply a copper eyeshadow to the eyelids and along the lower lash line using a clean eyeshadow brush. Hold a large all-over powder brush beneath the lower lashes to keep your undereye light and bright when applying dark eyeshadow.
- 5:55— Make your eyes sparkle using this eyeshadow “Spotlight Effect”. Apply makeup to the back of your hand and layer a gold, cream eye shadow on the center of the eyelid just above the iris. This will create a bright focus (or “spotlight”) that will showcase your eyes. Complete the eye makeup look with volumizing mascara.
- 10:55— Have you ever wondered, “What’s the difference between contour and bronzer?” Bronzer creates a tanned, sun-kissed look for an overall warm glow to your complexion. Contour sculpts and defines a more tapered and symmetrical look. For best results, use a bronzing powder with a warm undertone, and apply it to the broad zones of your face (ie. the temples and the top of the cheekbones) using a large, all-over powder brush.
- 13:55— Apply makeup finishing touches with creamy neutral mauve lipstick and some finishing spray to set the look.
Here are some additional tips for professional women who are applying makeup:
- Keep it simple. You don’t need to wear a lot of makeup to look professional. Simple, natural-looking makeup is best for looking polished and put-together.
- Choose the right colors. When choosing makeup colors, opt for neutral shades. Bright, bold colors can be too distracting in a professional setting.
- Blend all of your products well. The most important thing to remember when applying makeup is to avoid harsh lines or obvious makeup streaks.
- Practice makes perfect. The more you practice applying makeup, the better you’ll get at it. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to apply makeup that looks professional in 15 minutes or less!
