3 Pro Makeup Tips to Look Fabulous at Your Next Virtual Event

Can we talk about being seen on camera for a sec? More specifically, how nerve-wracking it can be to consistently showing up as the face of your brand to engage your audience each week on social media, in live webinars, virtual trainings, or video interviews?

Or is it just me?

Whenever I prepare for an important virtual event, such as a live webinar or digital training, I follow these three pro tips as a pre-event beauty ritual to give myself that extra “glow.” Not only do I look and feel fabulous, but the whole beauty routine relaxes and rejuvenates me to stay calm and focused for my audience.

Tip #1: Give Yourself the Perfect Pampering Facial.

Give yourself the perfect pampering facial by pressing your hydration into your face allowing it to take a deeper impact and ensuring a nice even application. Not only will you look and feel better by improving the overall appearance of your skin, but this simple facial massage will boost circulation, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and brighten your skin. BONUS: You will feel so relaxed and rejuvenated before your virtual event.

With your fingers, a rose quartz roller, or a facial massager, start from the center of your chin. Massage the jaw area from your lips and chin to the edge of your jawline. Next, massage the cheeks using an upward and outward motion, moving in the same direction, gently massage beneath your eye, moving up and out toward the forehead. Massage the forehead and the neck in an upward direction.

Tip #2: Exfoliate and Moisturize Your Lips

If you’ve taken my Lipstick Masterclass, you know how serious I am about treating your lips before an important on-camera appearance. Always begin by exfoliating and moisturizing your lips to create a smooth surface for your color.

Here’s a pro tip: Designate a dry toothbrush with or without a lip scrub (such as this DIY Lip Scrub for Luscious Lips). Make small circles with the brush on your lips and around your mouth. The brush will remove the dead skin and promote blood flow to the lips, making them look soft and plump.

Tip #3: Heat your Eyelash Curler

Amazing lashes are simply a must for the camera, and the first step is the most important (so be sure not to skip it). A lash curler enhances the eyelashes by grabbing every hair, creating a smooth, voluminous curl without causing damage to your natural lashes. In addition, an eyelash curler is simple and pain-free, helping you achieve a bright and magnified eye look in a matter of seconds.

To achieve perfectly curled lashes, set your blow dryer on low heat and hold it against your eyelash curler for 10-15 seconds. Be sure to test the heat on your hand first, so you don’t accidentally burn the sensitive area around your eyes. Start at the base of your lashes, work your way up to the middle, and finally, the tip. to instantly lengthen and beautifully curl your lashes before applying the first mascara coat.

In this brand-new training, I’ll walk you through:

  • The makeup approaches that fall short of supporting a confident online presence
(Hint: Did you know that the camera can age its subject (us) by 7+ years? Oh, and that adage about the camera adding 10 lbs? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but…
  • My no-fail makeup placement techniques according to your face shape (have you been applying your blush in the right place? Are you curious about contouring for the camera but unsure where to put it? I’ll do a deep dive into contouring “whys” and “wheres” that can do wonders for your onscreen appearance.

If you:

All you have to do is pick the Masterclass that best fits your schedule (I’m offering multiple times).
